The Board

Leadership Investment Intensives (Lii) was incorporated in September 2011. From the beginning, Lii has been graced with Board Members who are deeply committed to Lii’s mentoring mandate.

Sanford is passionate about faith, family, education, and sports. He has been married to the incredible Dr. Anastasia Williams for almost 30 years and they have three children: Kiara (University of Virginia (UVA) ‘11; UVA Law ‘15); Sanford Johnathan (UVA ‘13; Boston U. M.Med.’15; Wake Forest Medical School ’19); and Nia (UVA ’21).

Sanford graduated from Newark Academy in New Jersey in 1983 and then enrolled at Cornell University at the age of 15, where he earned his Undergraduate Degree in Operations Research & Industrial Engineering and an MBA from the Johnson School of Management. He later attended UVA’s School of Law, and earned a J.D. in 1996. At UVA, he was a member of the Virginia Law Review.

Since 1999, Sanford has worked as an attorney and in various other roles at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Sanford is currently the Director for the FCC’s Office of Communications Business Opportunities.  Sanford has also worked as an attorney for Womble, Carlyle Sandridge & Rice, and taught at Augusta State University in Augusta, Georgia. Sanford is a member of the Virginia Bar and the Georgia Bar.

In 2010, Sanford was blessed to be elected to serve on the Manassas City (Manassas, VA) School Board, and he was re-elected in 2014. In his spare time, he has served as the Assistant Coach for the Osbourn High School Girls Varsity Basketball Team, a Sunday School Teacher, and a youth sports coach for over a dozen years. Since April 2004, Sanford has been the Business Manager at Olde Towne Pediatrics—a pediatric practice founded in 2004 and owned by Anastasia.

Connie Boltinghouse, Board Vice-President

A recipient of the prestigious Organizational Excellence Award from the Franklin Covey Institute, Connie Boltinghouse is a speaker, author, church consultant, and corporate missionary serving Christ in the church and the marketplace. For the last 30 years of her career, she has focused on franchising with 20 years specifically in the cosmetology industry.

As the Vice President of Franchise Product Sales and the Vice President of Franchise Services for a Fortune 1000 company, Connie has opened businesses throughout the U.S. and Europe. Connie has been a consultant and conference speaker for both corporations and church leaders in the areas of leadership, mergers, conflict management, high growth opportunity, and needs assessment.

Her real passion is to provide pathways for others to fulfill their potential with their God-given gifts. In living her passion, Connie travels the world teaching leadership, helping people learn to understand each other and how to walk through change. Whether speaking in Moldova, Armenia, E.U., or the U.S. her high energy and creativity comes across in each message and is an inspiration to those who hear her. Connie relishes each opportunity to use her skills to revitalize and train church leadership for the glory of God. Connie is currently the Vice-President of Operations at Sport Clips, Inc. She is the “9 Corporation.” She received a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Bethel University, is an ordained minister, and is a recipient of the Torch Bearer Award from Regis. Her B.A. is from Southeastern College.

Spencer Beach, Board Treasurer

A master networker and visionary with a quick intellect (and a wonderfully low threshold for fluff), Spencer is the Executive Pastor of KeyPoint Church in Arkansas. He holds a B.A. in Marketing and Finance from Florida State University and is a Licensed Minister. Additionally, Spencer is a Licensed Life and Health Insurance provider in the state of Louisiana and a member of the Florida State Alumni Association. He lives with his beautiful wife and daughter in Arkansas.

Kathy Witte, Board Secretary

Kathy is the Financial Controller for a large mental health organization in the Twin Cities, where she has worked for the last 19 years. She loves financial analysis and is constantly challenging herself to find ways to increase profit while also providing better service. In addition to her occupation as a Financial Controller, Kathy has also served as Treasurer on the Board of Directors for the Minnesota Bluegrass and Old Time Music Association, and was a member of the Finance Committee of her church for several years. She has been a financial advisor to other non-profit organizations and is a resource in her church in helping others learn to budget and get out of debt.

In addition to her financial expertise, Kathy has served as an Elder and Women’s Ministry Director for her church. She has done extensive mentoring of women, including individual mentoring and small groups, and has also facilitated several women’s and adult classes. In the past she has also served as the Worship Director and Children’s Ministry Director. Kathy has a loving and passionate heart for the Lord and for people. She loves to get to know people, enjoys talking and laughing with them, but also wants to get to know them at the level they are willing to share who they really are. A good day for Kathy includes 1) a belly ache from laughter 2) a few less tissues in the box because of weeping with someone or about someone’s circumstances or situation and 3) knowing that God is in the center of it all.

Kathy was a part of the 2014 Lii Mentoring Encounter where she began friendships with some amazing women and where she grew and was changed through God’s work in her life and Alicia’s thoughtful and prayerful mentoring of her. She has a strong God-directed desire to connect women from each year’s Mentoring Encounter into lifelong friendships and a strong support system where each woman can feel and know the strength of a company of Deborah’s surrounding her in prayer and friendship as we walk through the years and calling that God has given to each of us.

At the beginning of 2015, Kathy resigned from her leadership responsibilities at her church as she clearly felt directed in new areas of ministry. Kathy’s heart for the poor, widows and orphans has become her passion over the past three years as she has visited both Uganda and Haiti three times. In both countries she has had the opportunity to minister and care for widows, orphans, the elderly, the poor and needy. God broke Kathy’s heart in a new way as she experienced both desperate poverty beyond belief and an unrelenting joy in people who literally have nothing. Kathy looks forward to following God’s call in serving on the Board of Directors for Lii, and in continuing to respond to the needs of others with God’s heart, love and compassion.
